THE CONSIGNMENT PROCESS
A Brief Guide To Consigning To Our Auctions
THE INITIAL STEP IS TO CONTACT US FOR A FREE CONSULTATION
We will discuss the item(s) that you have to sell and establish if we will need to see them in person before continuing the consignment process. If we need to see the items, we may require photos to be emailed to us, or in many instances, we will schedule an appointment to view the item(s) in person and also discuss the options available for the sale of the items.
During the consultation, we provide an estimated auction value for the items, and explain how items would be sold at auction. We also discuss the commission rate that will be charged - typically our commission rates fall between 10% and 25% depending on the quality and value of the consignment.
ONCE TERMS ARE AGREED UPON
We complete an auction contract and consignment inventory list. The consigned items are brought back to our location and begin being processed to be sold in our upcoming auctions.
AFTER THE AUCTION
Typically within 14 days after the auction, consignors are mailed a check for the proceeds with a consignor statement which details each item or lot with the auction price realized.
